Bio Estrella

Born and raised in Havana, Estrella Acosta, a versatile vocalist with Cuban roots, is also at home with Brazilian and jazz music. Estrella’s travels have taken her around the world singing at major festivals like North Sea Jazz, Curaçao Jazz, Chicago World Music, Sunfest in London (Canada) and the Jazz Plaza in Havana, Cuba. She released four CD’s and a single on her label eStar and recorded as a guest for various labels, including a recording with the Metropole Orchestra for Universal Records. Her second production on eStar, ‘Alma Guajira’, was nominated for an Edison (Dutch Grammy). ‘Los Animales’, a bilingual children’s CD on which she sang, won a Latin Grammy in 2015. Her new album, ‘Mujeres de Luna’, has been received enthusiastically by the public and the press. She appeared recently on CNN en Español and on NTR TV.
